What a privilege to be at Llantrisant Folk Club on Wednesday!

Even though I go to an awful lot of music, I am still always excited and anticipating when I arrive. That doesn't always last! This was one event when expectations were exceeded. I hadn't done any research on the group ( I usually do) so it was unknown territory. Of course, I've followed Steeleye Span from the start, but this was very different.

Fine musicianship with three people blending wonderfully. And if you guys weren't genuinely enjoying being our guests, you're very good actors!

Brilliant gig at Guildhall Leicester last night. Thanks for taking time to chat afterwards much appreciated. It was 40 years since we last chatted and that was briefly at UEA Norwich. (You were brilliant then too!)

Agree with Julie - a great concert last night. All good but particularly liked Tom o' Bedlam and the 'new' song.
Incidentally, the unnamed Irish tune is not Inishir as I suggested, but I think it's Planxty Irwin by Turlough O'Carolan (hedging my bets this time because age fuddles the brain!).

Thanks again, see you next year

Dave

Another fabulous Gigspanner concert at Cahors Folk Club (Labastide-Marnhac)last night. Especially Peter's newly composed ('about 5 months ago')ballad. Now and again a song comes along which touches the heart and has not come along for me since the first time I heard 'Green Fields of France' by Eric Bogle. I class the new song up there with 'Green Fields'. I do hope it is recorded soon whether on CD or download.
Hope to see you all again here in Cahors next year if not sooner. In the meantime I will be listening to 'Doors at 8' and 'Cobweb, Moth and Mustardseed', music that just makes you smile. Bises Julie Danjean
